Nine Steps to Being a Miserable Writer

How to be a miserable writer in nine easy steps:

1. Constantly compare yourself to other writers.

2. Tell your friends/family what you do and expect them to cheer for you.

3. Base your success on one project.

4. Stick with what you know.

5. Undervalue your expertise.

6. Let money dictate what you do or how well you do it.

7. Stick to projects your family would approve of.

8. Set or accept unrealistic goals for yourself (to be done tomorrow).

9. Quit doing what you love.

I can relate to every point on this list.

I’d have to add: put off writing until you “feel” like writing. 🙂
